CLIENT: Christy Bloom Design & Build
PROJECT: Branding & Website
The Challenge:
A small interior design firm was shopping around for a logo and were getting results that did not tell the story of their very clean, modern and simple design esthetic.
My Role:
I concepted and art directed for three “micro brands” that went beyond just the logo. I also designed from beginning to end and also worked with the vendor to ensure the print quality.
The Solution:
In the end the client chose a concept that was very simple and clean and let their beautiful work do the selling while keeping a necessary balance of their portfolio with their new brand.
INITIAL BRAND CONCEPTS
My initial concepts for the logo and brand were simple and clean while still giving a subtle nod to the interior design industry. 1. The first concept was a play on blueprints using what you’d see in the layouts framing the typography. 2. The second option was pushing the fact that the company offered a unique service of not only interior design but also the building of their designs. 3. The third concept used simple geometric shapes within the typography as a slight reference to the process of design.
FINAL BRAND SOLUTION
The client and I felt that pumping up the idea of an all in one stop shop made them stand out amongst their competition more that the other options and we moved forward with refinement and collateral implementation on option two.
Standing out in a Oversaturated Market
Christy Blooms offices resided in Walla Walla, WA where the market at the time was booming with new businesses driven by the local wine industry. Demand for interior design and build was booming so they needed a look and feel that spoke to their clean and modern esthetic while standing out amongst the competition. We went with a slick black and white execution with hints of gold and silver. And we kept it simple with minimal graphic elements and ample white space to echo their design style.
